Identity verification (KYC)
This is the identity check Amazon runs on the people who build and operate SP-API applications in the Solution Provider Portal. It is separate from the registration review of the developer profile and roles.
As Amazon publishes it
Every statement on this page restates Amazon's public documentation, linked under Sources.
Who verifies
- All Solution Provider Portal users — developers, service providers and invited employees — must verify their identity, regardless of their role or access level in the organization.
- Each individual who accesses seller accounts must be verified: account administrators and employee team members alike.
- Identity verification is required to access the portal.
Documents
Amazon requires at least two documents.
Identity document
- A government-issued photo identity document — for example a passport, a national identity card or a driver's license.
- It shows the name, date of birth, ID number and, where applicable, the expiration date.
Proof of address
- A bank, credit card or e-commerce payment service statement issued within the last 180 days.
- It shows the financial institution and the account holder's name and address.
Process
- Sign in to the Solution Provider Portal and complete the business information forms.
- Confirm a one-time PIN received by SMS or phone call.
- Upload the supporting documents and complete the identity verification form.
- Wait for Amazon's review: allow up to two business days after the documents are submitted. The result arrives by e-mail.
The portal saves progress, so the process can be resumed later.
Decisions are final
Verification decisions are final and are based on the information and documentation provided.
After verification
Verification is done once: after it succeeds it does not have to be repeated, and the verified status applies to the entire Solution Provider Portal account.
