Marketplaces and regions

Updated

The Amazon Ads API has three regional hosts, each serving a fixed set of marketplaces, and a profile works only on the host of its region.

As Amazon publishes it

Every statement on this page restates Amazon's public documentation, linked under Sources.

In short

  • Three regional hosts: North America (NA), Europe (EU) and Far East (FE).
  • Listing profiles on a host returns only the profiles of that host's region.
  • A profile id sent to a host outside its region answers a 4XX Unauthorized error.

Regional hosts

The Amazon Ads API is served from three regional hosts. Each serves a fixed set of marketplaces:

North America (NA)

  • Host: https://advertising-api.amazon.com
  • Marketplaces: United States (US), Canada (CA), Mexico (MX), Brazil (BR)

Europe (EU)

  • Host: https://advertising-api-eu.amazon.com
  • Marketplaces: United Kingdom (UK), France (FR), Italy (IT), Spain (ES), Germany (DE), Netherlands (NL), United Arab Emirates (AE), Poland (PL), Turkey (TR), Egypt (EG), Saudi Arabia (SA), Sweden (SE), Belgium (BE), India (IN), South Africa (ZA)

Far East (FE)

  • Host: https://advertising-api-fe.amazon.com
  • Marketplaces: Japan (JP), Australia (AU), Singapore (SG)

A profile belongs to one region

  • Listing profiles on a host returns only the profiles whose marketplace falls within that host's region (see Profiles and accounts).
  • An advertiser present in several regions therefore lists profiles on each regional host and sends each profile's calls to the host of its region.

Wrong host fails

A profile id from a marketplace outside the host's region does not authorize any operation on that host when passed in Amazon-Advertising-API-Scope; the call answers a 4XX Unauthorized error.
